Who you are dealing with
Hindsight is made and sold by Eunoia Software LLC. "We" and "us" in this document mean that company. You can reach a person at help@hindsightclips.com.
The free trial
Hindsight is free to use, with every feature unlocked and nothing watermarked, for 14 days. In the Mac App Store version, the trial begins only when you choose Start 14-Day Trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the annual subscription begins at $19.99 a year. In the direct-download version, the trial begins on first launch.
Nothing you already saved is touched: your clips are ordinary files in your own folder and they stay exactly where they are, whether you subscribe or not. The replay buffer also keeps running, so if you subscribe part way through a session, the moment still sitting in memory can still be saved.
What you are buying
An annual subscription to use Hindsight on the Macs you own or control. It costs $19.99 per year after a 14-day free trial. Billing renews each year unless you cancel.
Bought directly, you receive a licence key and a download. Bought through the Mac App Store, your subscription is tied to your Apple Account and managed from there. Either way there is no account with us to create.
What you may not do
Do not resell, rent or redistribute the app or your licence key, and do not attempt to defeat the licensing. Beyond that, use it however you want, including for commercial work and for anything you publish.
Your recordings
Clips you make are yours. We claim no rights over them, we never see them, and nothing in these terms gives us a licence to anything you record. What you are allowed to record is between you and whoever is on screen; recording other people or copyrighted material may be restricted where you live, and that part is your responsibility.
Refunds
Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for direct purchases. If Hindsight does not do what this site says it does, write to help@hindsightclips.com within 14 days of buying and you get your money back. No form to fill in.
Mac App Store purchases are refunded by Apple, through Apple's own process, because Apple is the seller there.
Updates
Bug fixes and improvements are included while your subscription is active. If a future major version is ever sold separately, that will be said clearly before you are asked for anything.
The app is provided as it is
Hindsight is provided without warranty of any kind. It is a tool that records video on a computer you control, and it can be affected by macOS updates, other software, drivers and hardware. We do not promise it will capture any particular moment, and you should not rely on it for anything that cannot be repeated.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to Hindsight is limited to what you paid for it. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be removed by agreement.
Ending the subscription
You can cancel the subscription or stop using Hindsight and delete it at any time. Your clips stay yours and stay where they are. Mac App Store subscriptions are cancelled in your Apple Account settings. The licence ends if it is resold or if the licensing is deliberately circumvented.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Changes are not retroactive: the terms in force when you subscribed are the ones that apply to that subscription period.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules.
